IBM Collaboration Software to Support the Android Platform

A great announcement came out of IBM today.  I heard the rumors, but now it is official.  Lotus will be supporting the Android platform.  Click here to see the press release.

As smartphones proliferate in enterprises, it is getting more difficult for IT organizations to set a standard.   A couple years ago, Blackberry seemed to be getting close to being the primary standard.  With the iPhone, and later the Android based devices coming to market, the hope of a single standard faded away.

Over the past year, I consistently hear from IT that the CEO, Sales Director, etc has a new iPhone or HTC EVO and we need to support it.

Including Android, otus Notes Traveler software supports Nokia Symbian, Windows Mobile Devices and the Apple iPhone and iPad.
